WHERE IT BEGAN
Before Salt Hound was a brand, she was a dog.
Her name was Cali.
She came to us with a salty soul—the kind earned by making it through something first. What she gave us was a loyal heart: instinctive, unwavering, and impossible to fake.
Cali changed the way we saw rescue dogs. She taught us that the ones who arrive with a little history often carry the most character.
Every hound on every hat and every product bearing our name traces back to her.
She’s gone now.
This is how we keep her walking with us.

We start by making rescue impossible to overlook.
The Salt Hound Project is beginning with the most valuable resources we can honestly offer today: our voice, our audience, and our ability to tell stories people remember.

Salt Hound was born on California’s Central Coast. That makes this the natural place for The Salt Hound Project to begin. We’ll start by elevating the rescue community around us—sharing its stories, introducing dogs still waiting, and helping more people find a meaningful way into the work. Real impact begins with real relationships. We’ll build those relationships here, learn from the people doing the work, and grow deliberately from the coast outward.
